John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum Hosts Farm Fun Day

Kids of all ages are invited to learn about life on a farm at the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum’s Farm Fun Day on Saturday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. At this free event kids can see farm animals from Miller’s Petting Zoo, participate in farm activities and watch live blacksmith demonstrations that will be conducted onsite throughout the day.

“We are excited to welcome back this event and look forward to creating a day of fun for kids and their families,” said Rosa Grant, Manager of the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum. “All of the play stations we created are designed to keep kids entertained while they learn about activities that happen on a farm. We’ll have opportunities inside and outside our facility to provide plenty of learning and fun for the whole family.”

Children who complete the “chores” in Little Johnny’s Farm, including milking a cow (not a real one), will receive a “Deere Dollar” they can cash in for a special giveaway. Keeping with the general theme of the Tractor & Engine Museum, kids can also test their driving skills in a pedal tractor obstacle course or put their muscles to work in a pedal-powered tractor pull.

The John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum’s Farm Fun Day is open to the public and is free of charge. The Museum is located at 500 Westfield Avenue in Waterloo.
