Tusculum farm was originally a log house, built in 1747 by American patriot Henry Griffith. He was a prominent Marylander who, in addition, was also a member of the Annapolis Convention that formed the Association of Freeman of Maryland. He also witnessed the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

It is historically known as the sundown farm. The farm has rich American history. Since 1747, it has been built by families, generation after generation.

The Freeman family is the last family who lived in the farm up until 2015, when it was decided that Tusculum Farm would be opened up for all to create their own memories there. The farm will always be a family farm, and everyone who visits is family.

At Tusculum Farm, every season holds a special significance. When snow covered, it looks like a winter wonderland. When Spring time brings budding flowers, along with it comes new baby animals and the smell of rain. The Summer brings long lazy days filled with swimming, riding, and fishing.
